A few minutes by car, or if you prefer by bicycle, you can reach the beautiful tourist village of Porto Rotondo. One of the most renowned realities of national and international tourism, complicit in their beauty together with Porto Cervo to embellish the prestige of Gallura on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia. Porto Rotondo covers 500 hectares of land between the two gulfs of Cugnana and Marinella. Its marina, which is one of the most characteristic, is home to many residents even in winter, while the summer season sees peaks of 30 thousand inhabitants. Historically, the village dates back to 1964 when the Venetian counts Luigi and Nicolò Donà dalle Rose, as part of an initiative promoted by a group of entrepreneurs, began the first work on the project to build a port inside the characteristic round bay.

Poto Rotondo today, is articulated through several bridges and canals, hence the architecture that takes in the first concept the structure of Venice, not by chance the beautiful main square is Piazzetta San Marco.

To see: the Church of San Lorenzo, commissioned by the Conti Donà delle Rose and designed and embellished in 1966 by the sculptor Andrea Cascella and completed inside by Mario Ceroli with local workers, completed in 1971 today the small Church of San Lorenzo is truly unique.
In 2008, at the request of the Porto Rotondo Foundation, the Consortium took over responsibility for the management and care of the Church and all ensuing burdens. In the same year, work began on the completion of the church and the construction of the wooden bell tower (designed by Mario Ceroli and Gianfranco Fini).

To see: The Porto Rotondo Theatre is undoubtedly the most beautiful stage in Gallura. It was designed by the sculptor Mario Ceroli ( S.Lorenzo church ) and built by the architects Gianfranco Fini and Marina Sotgiu. Work began in 1972, while the inauguration took place in 1995. It is still active today, with a rich calendar of performances. In its beauty and majesty it is entirely made of local granite of different shades and colours in a graphic-chromatic combination.

Must-see: Piazzetta San Marco is undoubtedly Porto Rotondo’s most glamorous summer meeting point, where you can sit with friends for a typical aperitif with a cool glass of Vermentino di Gallura or enjoy unique cocktails! The square was designed in a circular shape looking out over the harbour by the sculptor Andrea Cascella, the magnificent staircase made entirely of granite, from the centre of the pizza leads up to the church of San Lorenzo.

Must-see: The Yacht Club Porto Rotondo today is an undisputed destination for yachtsmen, enthusiasts and young sailing champions; every year the school churns out record-breaking sailing excellence.
On the plume is hoisted the white pennant: in the centre is the face of the lion of St Mark holding in his souvenir claws the coat of arms of the four Moors, the typical Sardinian flag.
The Y.C.P.R. is a unique location with its white wooden architecture and its marine character. It is certainly an excellent place to enjoy excellent seafood dishes in its special in-house restaurant (reservation required) and to find rare labels of international spirits.
